Japchae is originally a traditional korean noodle dish to serve for the king. However, in modern times it has been served to celebrate holidays like Korean New Years and Chuseok. Remembered for its savory taste that pairs well with other foods it is popular among many korean people. Japchae to Hyunju, is an important part in her move to America. Having shared it with many of the friends she made in the U.S it has become a staple dish to be made for gatherings.
